Hello Jaithoottooss29
Please kindly note, I am not an SBB customer service agent. The SBB Community, the platform on which you have posted your question, is a customer support platform run by volunteers.
SBB needs to have a way for someone outside of Switzerland to buy GA cards, abroad. Why are the GA cards not electronic so that I can have it on my SBB iPhone app? Then at least if I want a physical card, I can pick it up at my convenience rather than having to disrupt my travel.
Please provide a better solution.
The GA travel cards are intended for locals, for daily use, e.g. to commute between places. It is stored on a red plastic card that bears the customer’s name and photo. The card is created within 10 days after ordering a travel card and is dispatched to a Swiss address or an address in one of the neighbouring countries only.
If you can provide such along with a Swiss phone number, you are fine to purchase it online.
If you can’t, you can still purchase the paper version at the station, for example, the next day and still use another ticket for the day of your arrival.
The majority of tourists do purchase the Swiss Travel Pass, or the Swiss Half Fare Card. The 1-month Ga travel card is rarely used by them, explaining the compromise solution (paper card) for those who still want it.
Kind regards,
Roland
