Saver Day Pass

Hello! I am looking to travel from Paris - Interlaken, and then from Interlaken - Annecy. I am looking at the Saver Day Pass’s as they may work out cheaper, but wondering, am I able to use those to travel from France into Switzerland, or do they only work in Switerzland? I will be travelling in April next year, and am just trying to work out the cheapest way to travel in and out. I don’t think a Swiss Travel Pass will be good value for me, but if there are any other options, please let me know! I am also considered a youth under 25 (:

Saver Day Passes are valid only in Switzerland. You need tickets from Paris to Basel SBB and from Annemasse to Annecy. Prices are usually cheaper if you change in Strasbourg or Mulhouse and take a regional train from these cities as a direct TGV from Paris to Basel. I suggest to search the best prices on sncf-connect.com. It is too early to buy such tickets for April 2025.

From and to Interlaken, search the timetable on sbb.ch and the best price will be displayed: Supersaver Ticket (valid only in the selected trains) or Saver Day Pass (valid in every train, better if you don’t know when you will arrive in Basel). Please note that the half price will be displayed first, be sure to buy full price tickets, define the name of the passengers without any reduction. Discounted tickets are not exchangeable and not refundable.

I wondered how your itinerary will look like.

There is little reason for visiting Interlaken; it is a tired tourist town, and not located in the mountains. To explore the scenic area, however, you will require additional tickets while the Saver Day Pass is not useful fir that. So what are your plans for Interlaken and how will you travel around while there?

Thank you Roland! I am focusing my travels in other European countries and wanted to quickly visit somewhere in Switzerland. I decided on Interlaken as I understand there are a few towns around the two lakes to visit, and there are “region” passes that can be used for tourists in each region, including the Interlaken regional. I am wanting to walk around, enjoy nice views and landscapes, so if you have another place you would recommend more, I would love to hear more!
