First time visitor/Phone App Suggestion

Not sure where to send this suggestion to, so hopefully the community is the right place.

We accidentally bought a super saver class upgrade, thinking it was a ticket. We luckily didn’t get fined. Admittedly, we should have read the information available more thoroughly, but I think it would be a great improvement to not allow someone to buy an upgrade without also buying a ticket.

As a software developer I think the best designs are those that give the user guard rails. In this instance, a guard rail was needed.

A restriction as per your suggestion is not possible since a Supersaver upgrade ticket from the app can also be combined with offline tickets & travel cards, of which the app is not aware.

Do tickets have unique identifiers? Perhaps the app can request a unique ID be provided if a ticket is not selected.

They probably do. The point is that the multitude of all different kinds of tickets or zone/area/itinerary based or “all inclusive” passes from different issuers (SBB, other train/bus operators, regional fare networks, tourism organizations, non-personal paper tickets from vending machines, paper day passes from supermarket chains, etc.) which are not necessarily referenced in the SBB Mobile app would make this overly complicated, also for endusers.
