Discount with Montreux Noel

Hi all, I am a bit confused about this offer here: https://freizeit.sbb.ch/en/stories/christmas-market-montreux. Why does it say we need to present the swissPass? Also, it stated “1× Point-to-point Ticket RailAway, Half-Fare Travelcard”? Do I need to have a Half-fare travelcard to get this discount? if yes, that doesn’t sound like this will be a discount since a half fare ticket will be needed.

Looking forward to get some clarification from anyone 😉. Thanks.

Do you want to visit the market? Or do you just need a ticket to Montreux?

If the former is the case: no you do not need a half fare card to purchase this offer, consequently, also no SwissPass is needed; the offer does not only include a reduced fare, it also comes with additional discounts for the market itself.

Hi Roland thank you. What is the difference? Is there a restriction to only visit the market? I would like to visit the market but if time allows will also see Montreux a little bit.

Also, could you clarify for me before I check oht it stated the 1 point to point ticket but then there is an additional CHF 8,80 to the cost that’s named “Montreux noel”?

The market is not free; the CHF 8 is the admission to the market.

Yes, you can alsi visit Montreux with a point-to-point ticket, yet not with a Supersaver ticket.

I asked whether you indeed want to visit the market as we have had similar questions about Montreux Noel from fellow users who actually wanted visiting Montreux, the city, not the market.

Hi thanks for your answer and noted on the market fee of CHF 8 pp, that’s okay.

Excuse my ignorance but I don’t understand the difference between visiting Montreux Noel vs visiting the city. My plan was originally do see the city in the afternoon and then check out the market after or the other way around.
Is it not possible to do with the discounted ticket?

Hi, can I get this discount also on the machine on the spot?
Please also explain on the difference between going to the market ONLY and going before or after to the city as well after the market. Thank you!
