Rail Travel From ZHR to Zermatt

I a arriving ZHR airport at 1020 AM on January 18, 2025. I need a rail schedule to accomodate time for customs and luggage with skis. Can you please provide me with an exact schedule?

I am planning on traveling back to Zurich (town) on January 25 and will need a schedule for this day as well. Again traveling with luggage and skis. I will return to the states on Jan 29 and will travel within Swiss from 1/26-29.

Should I purchase a 4 day pass?

The IATA code for Zurich is actually ZRH 🙂 And, our country is named Switzerland, the people living here are the Swiss.

That clarified, we recommend to look up train schedules using the official trip planner on www.sbb.ch/en or by downloading the SBB Mobile app. We are not a travel agency but can give you some hints where to find the information.

For the travel to Zermatt, we recommend a Saver Day Pass (possibly at half fare); it allows you to take any connection to Zermatt, no matter the arrival time on the day of arrival.
In addition, I would recommend a Swiss Half Fare Card and individual tickets. A Swiss Travel Pass is not useful during your stay in Zermatt, it does not offer any benefits if you go skiing. For the days after skiing, you could purchase Saver Day Passes at half fare or individual tickets at half fare since you hold the Swiss Half Fare Card.

I really need help with a specific itinerary with details and allowance for train change with skis and luggage on rail travelk Jan 18, 2025 from Zurich to Zermatt after 1PM. Is there a travel agent you can put me in touch with??

You can find out everything you need to know about train times and prices on www.sbb.ch. What extra value would a travel agent provide here?

Anyway, if arriving by air on Jan 18, just buy a Saver Day Pass for that day. That is currently the best and cheapest option. Buy it now, as it only will get more expensive the closer you get to your travel date.

Thank you - I noticed I can send my luggage ahead from Zurich Airport - which location do I choose and where is the luggage drop off in the airport - The option menu lists several Zurich locations. Is this a good option as I will need my gear the following AM to ski.

Thank you - can you give me the correct drop down name to transfer my luggage from Zurich Airport to the Bristol Holtel in Zermatt where I am staying? I noticed several Zurich locations on the menu. Where exactly is the place where you drop your bags? Is this service reliable to get my luggage to my hotel the same day?
