Dear everyone,

I have a ticket for the 28.11 from GVA airport to Prilly (through Morges), but now I am supposed to take the train to Lausanne. Can I change the ticket online? If yes, where?

To give you more information this is going to be my route:

If it is a normal point-to-point ticket, you can cancel it and repurchase for Lausanne.

Supersaver tickets, which you hopefully do not hold, cannot be cancelled.

But it were also possible to buy a ticket from Prilly-Malley to Lausanne, a refund costs 10 CHF. I think that “Ticket bought as host” means “without account”.

RolandP Do you know if it is possible to take a direct train from Morges to Lausanne using:

— a point-to-point ticket from Geneva Airport to Prilly-Malley
— a Mobilis ticket from Prilly-Malley to Lausanne

Or if it is only possible when the train stops at Prilly-Malley?

No, such a combination is not possible on a direct train from GE to LS.

The OP would have to purchase a ticket from Morges to Lausanne in addition. This is still a viable option and less costly / cumbersome than a cancellation. The only requirement, the train has to stop at Morges then.

A Mobilis ticket will only be valid in trains that stop in Prilly - Malley.

I’m not sure, if the trains stops in Morges, this station is in the Mobilis area, it means that Mobilis tickets are valid in a direct train from Morges to Lausanne.

I have to revise my statement.

Since it is an SBB long distance ticket, the conductors can amend the ticket. But, you must actively seek help from them, contact them before getting on the train at GVA; at Geneva Airport, they are usually standing in front of the train until departure time.

The ticket can be amended by the conductors, to be valid via Lausanne; the price difference is +2 CHF. It is, however, not possible to change the destination, only the via can be changed.

To pay CHF 2 more (and to use it partially) is still cheaper than purchasing a complete new ticket from Morges to Lausanne (CHF 7.80) or an eventual ticket cancellation fee (CHF 10) and a repurchase.

@Danhiel I don’t actually know if it is a supersaver or not, but I guess it is, because I bought it far in advance, paying it around 17 CHF. Btw thanks a lot for helping.

It is important to know if it is a Supersaver Ticket or a point-to-point ticket. It should be possible to find this information on the ticket. Do you have a Half Fare Travelcard? The solution proposed by @RolandP is only possible with point-to-point tickets.

There is not written “supersaver” anywhere, but there is the “savings ticket” term, that might be the same, just translated in Italian.

About the Half Fare Travelcard I don’t have it.

A risparmio ticket can neither be changed nor amended by the conductor. Consequently, you have to purchase on-site a zone based, timed ticket from Morges to Lausanne. The amendment is only possible if it was a point-to-point ticket valid for any connection.

Also, keep in mind that this ticket is no longer valid if you miss the train due to a flight delay. The person who purchased this ticket should be made aware if this fact.

I would add that a zone based ticket from Morges to Lausanne will also be valid in the metro and buses in Lausanne if it is necessary to reach your final destination. You can also buy such tickets in the SBB Mobile app after your arrival in Geneva, but be sure to select the right train from Morges, the period of validity of these tickets is limited.

To be complete, if you miss the train and you must buy a new ticket from Geneva Airport to Lausanne, this ticket is not valid in the metro and buses.
