International travel with SwissPass

Hi all,

I’ve purchased a 8-day SwissPass from Jan13-Jan20. On the 20th, we will be travelling from Zurich to Stuttgart, Germany. I was wondering as the pass is still valid on the 20th, would it be sufficient to only purchase the tickets covering Schaffhausen (last station within service area of SwissPass) to Stuttgart?
If so, do we need to get off the train and come back on or we are fine staying on the same train?

If you pass is still valid on 20th, it is sufficient to buy a ticket from Schaffhausen to Stuttgart.

You can stay on the same train, unless a change were necessary for operational reasons. In this case the staff will inform you.

If you want to reserve seats, it is better to make two transactions:

— Tickets Schaffhausen - Stuttgart
— Seat reservations Zürich - Stuttgart, cheaper on oebb.at (Austrian Railways)
