Hello.
I am planning to travel by tgv from Zurich HB to Paris.
I am having trouble finding out where I can get the customs stamp for duty free items purchased in Switzerland.
I read on one website that there is a customs office at the Basel station and they might be able to stamp it for me, but it says that sometimes there is no one at the counter and it is up to luck.

I know that I am about to get a duty free document issued by the store of purchase for 300 CHF or more. After that, I would like to know if there is a place outside of the airport in Switzerland where I can go through customs.

If you travel with a direct TGV from Zürich to Paris, it is not possible to get off in Basel to obtain a stamp and the custom office at Basel station is not permanently staffed. You have only random checks on the train.

VAT is not high in Switzerland compared to other countries (only 8,1 %) or wait to be in Paris to make purchases, the Euro is very low now.
