Bike reservation

I found the connection from Wien Hbf to Lausanne with required bike reservation, but I can’t find the option to select a bike via ‘Edit passenger’ window. There is an instruction: “Tap the plus sign at the bottom next to the bike symbol once”. (https://www.sbb.ch/en/help-and-contact/products-services/tickets/switzerland/bikes.html#anchor3), but i can’t find the symbol, it doesn’t work I think. Does anyone know how I can reserve my bike? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I’m looking for a connection on 20 June 2025 at 7:28am from Vienna to Zurich, then a 15:30 transfer from Zurich to Lausanne. I know it’s too early to book, but even connections for earlier days show that there’s no way to reserve a bike space. I’ve also checked alternative connections.

I will answer myself, maybe it will be useful to someone.
Cross-border route Vienna Lausanne - it is best to divide the tickets into two parts and buy them directly from the operators.
The easiest way to buy tickets for the section from Vienna to Zurich is directly from OBB - possible 6 months before the date of travel (favorable discounts). The best option is the RJX 160 train at 7:28. You can make reservations for bicycles on this train.
For the second part of the Zurich to Lausanne journey, it is best to buy tickets from SBB - 3 months before the trip. There are several options after 15.30 IC with the possibility of transporting bicycles.

Keep in mind that for the SBB IC train, depending on the weekday, you might need a ticket AND a bike space reservation.

You’re right, it’s probably required on some trains in the season (starting around the second half of March) and they are marked by bicyle icon and “R”. It’s not in the winter, so I guess there’s no such option in the app for now.Thanks.
