Chur-Zermatt itinerary and Saver Day Pass

I want to plan a day trip from Chur to Zermatt via Andermatt, using regular, regional trains (2nd class) and also having longer stops in some of the locations. Could you please let me know which is the best way to book the train tickets and/or if it’s better to get a TravelCard of any kind?

A point-to-point ticket or a Saver Day Pass is certainly a possible option.

Whether a travel pass or the Swiss Half Fare Card are worth the investment we cannot say. For this we would have to know the total of your trips being done while staying in our beautiful country.

As a rule of thumb, the Swiss Half Fare Card is paying off if you will spend a total of CHF 240 on full fare tickets per person. An amount that is easily spent when doing mountain excursions.

Thank you for your message. I am planning to have a single day trip on 4th of January, leaving at around 8 AM from Chur. Final destination would be Zermatt. I want to follow the Glacier Express route for the views, and also have a few stops in some locations (for example at Andermatt).
