Yes, you get that money which you’ve paid back, but you lose the bonus.
Try to estimate your yearly ticket turnover at half fare prices (the HT Plus doesn’t make sense without the normal half fare travelcard). If in doubt, better get the smaller e.g. 1000 package and renew it before it expires, in order to fully and consistently benefit of the 20% discount/bonus. The break-even point for the 2000 package is at 1875.- purchased tickets within a year.
