Junior Card for tourists, is a photo required?

Hello from Brisbane Australia!
In two weeks my 12 years old daughters and I will be in Zurich and I plan to purchase a junior travel for each of them. Please can I ask if a passport photo is still necessary for a paper (or temporary) junior travel pass?

No, not for the paper pass. But you have to carry the (physical) passport whenever you use the Junior Card.

You should consider the Swiss Half Fare Card for yourself, coming with complimentary Swiss Family Cards for the kids.
