Luggage Service - Contact Number Query

Dear SBB Support,
I am an international student who will be studying in Switzerland. I plan to use your station-to-door luggage service from Geneva Airport to my student accommodation upon my arrival.
As I won’t have a Swiss phone number immediately when I arrive, I would like to know:

Is it possible to use my student accommodation’s contact number for the delivery?
If not, would I need to obtain a Swiss phone number first before I can use the luggage service?

Yes, you can certainly give your student accommodation’s contact number, provided this number is reachable and someone will be around when the luggage is delivered. Please ask the owner first before giving their number.

Is it indeed necessary to send your luggage through the baggage transfer service? Are there so many bags?

However, I wondered, is it indeed necessary to use this service? Do you have so many bags? Keep in mind, there is no instant delivery, and you have to be OK to being without your luggage or the first days. You should pack in such a way that you have all the personal belongings, that you need immediately, in the bag, which you carry with you.
