The bus stop on the SBB Mobile app is wrong by 50 metres to the west of the official, correct and real bus stop Sion, Corbassiere on Rue de Savoie.
Additionally, the wrong map location places the bus stop near a bridge (Rue de Savoie), meaning the real bus stop could be at the under (Rue de la Jonction) or over (Rue de Savoie) pass road.
This means a customer has to wait in a position to see which road the bus will come down, then run to the correct road.
Yes, after walking around a good 30 metres from where the wrong theoretical bus stop is on the SBB Mobile app, no official bus stop signs or road markings were discovered.
The time was 5am, so darkness prevented a clearer view of the real bus stop, 50 metres to the east of the overpass road crossing Rue de Savoie and Rue de la Jonction.
So waiting on the overpass road at the SBB Mobile app location and a bus appeared on Rue de Savoie. As the sole person in the dead of morning, the phone was furiously waved with the torch/light on, clearly viewable to cars, bus passengers and most importantly the bus driver. The bus driver drove on by and didn’t even stop at the official stop Sion, Corbassiere 50 metres to the east.
Clearly a distressed customer left to drown in bewilderment, due to the errors of the bus and map system.
Better to walk and not miss the connecting Sion train and be late to work. No need to mention to logistical operations required to work with the team depending on the organised meeting time, disrupted by the preceding events.
