Saver Day Pass

Good night!

I am from Brazil and it is my first time using SBB. I want to buy a Saver Day Pass from Tirano to St. Moritiz with no travelcard discount(I do not have any Travel Card nor Swiss Pass).

It says in the conditions that - “Valid for one person aged at least 16 in the GA Travelcard area of validity.” - Do I have to have a GA Travelcard in order to buy this kind of ticket or I just have to show my passport to prove that I am older than 16?

I just don´t want to make any mistake and to buy something that is not for me.

No, you don’t need a GA Travelcard, but be sure to buy a full price Saver Day Pass if you are 16 or older. It only means that the area of validity is the same as GA Travelcards.

Yes, you must show your physical passport, not to prove that you are older than 16, but to prove that the name and date of birth on the electronic ticket are the same as in your passport.

Not that your Saver Day Pass is not “from Tirano to Zurich”. It is good for all public transit in Switzerland, so not bound to a particular route.

So be not alarmed if there is no mention at all on the ticket of any stations…

Good thing to know what you said Krist. I thought the the Saver Day Pass was good only from point to point. When I looked at the ticket s I saw that there was no specific station on it. If were not for you I would have been very worried about my purchase.

Do you guys recomend to make the seat reservation or it is not necessary? I am going from Tirano to St. Moritz and come backup in the same day.

For your planned trip you can/must take regional trains, no reservations are possible. In the Bernina Express trains (deignated as PE in the timetable) you can also travel in the three first cars without mandatory seat reservation.
