Ticket to Switzerland sold by DB

Hello,

I’m planning to get on trains from Frankfurt to Sargans, Switzerland in July.
When I searched on the DB webpage, it shows connections as below.

10:05 Frankfurt(Main)Hbf - 13:10 Basel SBB, (ICE71)
(23min Transfer)
13:33 Basel SBB - 14:26 Zürich HB, (TGV9211)
(12min Transfer)
14:38 Zürich HB - 15:32 Sargans, (IC573)

Of course there are tremendous connection options other than this.
But I can’t depart Frankfurt earlier than this and also I don’t want to arrive at Sargans later than this.
So this connection is the best for me.
And I’m happy since I can enjoy ICE, TGV and IC simultaneously.
I’m aware that this is tight and I’m taking a gamble a bit.

I’m about to book from DB.
Price seems to be the cheapest.
But as far as I know, these 3 trains are operated by multiple railways.

I have a question.

[Q.]
What is the correct action when I miss the next train due to a delay not by my mistake?
Should I purchase a new ticket on a mobile APP and claim a refund later?
Or can I get on any alternative train and can I make an excuse to train conductor/steward by showing my original ticket?

Let’s make the long story short: you can simply continue with the original ticket.

It is stated on the SBB Website:

Yeah, this is the thing what I should have read before post here!
I apologize my lack of effort.

I got it, I can simply continue with the original ticket definitely.

Tickets sold by DB will usually only have train binding for the German part. So look at your ticket. Quite probably you can take whichever train you want on the Basel - Sargans section. Note also that the TGV is not running at high speed between Basel and Zurich. It just runs as a domestic IC on that sector. Note also that you will not find train numbers on departure boards in Switzerland, just destinations and times.

Those connections are not tight at all btw. The one in Basel is annoyingly long even.
