I visited Switzerland this August from the UK. My bag - an entire month’s worth of belongings - was stolen on the Bern to Brig train, on the 26th of August. I put a lost and found request in, but I didn’t hear anything back.
At the time, I made a post on Reddit detailing what had happened. I continued on with the rest of my 4 weeks trip (this happened on day 1 of 30). Now; months later, I checked my reddit DM’s and someone reached out on the 27th of August explaining that they had seen a bag matching my description lying on the ground at Brig, in the morning.
So, if that was my bag, I imagine that the person who stole it the day before, left it there on the street. I believe that someone might have picked it up and dropped it off at the lost and found, since the message said it was lying right outside the train station.
I don’t know how to follow up on this because I’m back in the UK, and I can’t call swiss numbers. I am very keen to know whether the bag the Redditor saw at Brig was my bag; but I don’t know how to find out. Could anyone give me some guidance? Or, let me know whether it’s a lost cause.
