Reason for yellow line splitting 1. and 2. class

What is the reason for the yellow line clearly saying “1. Klasse” and thus splitting first and second class passengers if you STILL get fined just for being in the wagon? It seems very confusing and everyone agrees, that’s why you can see in today’s news articles that a lot of people are confused over the fact that multiple 15 year olds (and lots of other people probably) got fined just for standing at the entrance, which by the way again has a very clear yellow line that would tell me personally (and other people too) that you’re safe with a 2. Class ticket as long as you’re not crossing the line, so standing at the entrance.

The rule is the following (Tariff T601 - Translation Google):

10.3.1 Passengers are entitled to carriage in the class corresponding to their tickets or in a lower class. The class designation also applies to the aisles and platforms of the carriages. If a carriage has a 1st class area and a 2nd class area, the areas which can only be accessed via 1st class are considered 1st class.

It also depends on the carriage type, whether it is a 1st class only or a mixed 1st/2nd configuration. With the former case (1st only), standing anywhere in the carriage is a taboo zone for 2nd class ticket holders (while walking through the carriage e.g. after a stop is ok).

Such rules were in place over a century ago. Nevertheless, our ancestors somehow were able to deal with them, even without mass media and Internet.

A difference: one century ago you were sure that tickets were checked in every train and you had to buy an upgrade from 2nd to 1st class.

In my opinion a better information with yellow posters would be necessary in the areas that are considered 1st class to remind the rules.
