Swiss Pass 8 day or 15 day

Hello, me and my boyfriend will be traveling from Zurich to Zermatt round trip arriving March 15 departing March 23rd. We would like to know if each of us needs to purchase the Swiss Pass 8 day option or the 15 day option for this trip. Is there any “deal” we can get since it is both of us? Would the Flex benefit us since we will not use the train pass for the days we are skiing? We will be using trains from March 15 to March 19 and March 23rd.

Welcome to the SBB Community.

If you plan to stay in Zermatt for the entire time, and you only need transfer tickets, we suggest a Saver Day Pass for the travel from Zurich (Airport) to Zermatt. On the way back, you could even purchase Supersaver tickets.

We do not recommend Supersaver tickets when arriving by air, however; these tickets become invalid if you miss the train indicated on the ticket in case of a delay with your flight or at the airport.

Thank you! we will going from Zurich to Lucerne to Interlaken to Zermatt over the first 5 days, and then Zermatt to Zurich on the last day.

Are you planning any mountain excursions when in Luzern and Interlaken? If yes, then the best option is to get the Swiss Half Fare Card, and just buy tickets (at half price) as you go. The HFC gives you 50% off on all mountain excursions as well.
