I currently have a Eurail pass and I am trying to plan a trip. I plan on being in Lauterbrunnen from the 30th of March to April 6th. After that, I will head over to Lausanne for a day (April 6th - 7th), then over to Annecy for a day (April 7th - 8th). Finally, Chamonix for 2 days (8th - 10th) and Zermatt (10th - 12th). After all that, heading over to Lake Como. Sounds like a simple route, but I’ve noticed all the train routes end or vastly increases 15+ hours after March 30th. From Lausanne to Annecy on March 30th, it’s about 3 hours but when putting the same trip into March 31st or anything in April or beyond, it’s 14 hours! Then, from Annecy to Chamonix is even worse where there’s no train line AT ALL after March 30th. If I end up taking busses, it’s okay but there’s no option whatsoever of any kind to get from Chamonix to Zermatt or Chamonix to anywhere on the Eurail app after March 30th… On SBB, it’s the same thing as well.
