SBB cannot be contacted by e-mail.
If it was an international tickets, these are only refundable at the travel center or by phone: +41 51 225 78 56.
In addition, for a retrospective refund request, you must be in the possession of an attestation from the staff that the ticket was not used. Since you spoke to an employee, you should have such.
