JungFrau Travel Pass requires Swiss Travel Flex Pass?

Hi, I am staying at Jungfrau region for 5 days 4 nights. I am planning to buy 4 days JungFrau Travel pass with a reduced price using Swiss Travel Pass Flex 8 days (STP).

I am planning to activate Swiss Flex Travel pass on 24 to 26 Sept and 01 Oct onward.

Question:

1) When i activate Jungfrau travel pass for 4 days (27 sept to 30 Sept) usage, does these 4 days need to also present/activate Swiss travel flex pass?

2) Or i just need to activate the swiss flex travel pass on the day when I purchase jungfrau travel pass (e.g. 24 sept)?

1) Yes, you can only benefit from a discounted Jungfrau Pass if you have activated the Swiss Travel Pass at the same time, and this for the entire time.

From my perspective, there is little value in buying the Swiss Travel Pass Flex. You are better off buying the Swiss Half Fare Card plus Saver Day Passes or individual tickets for days, where you travel outside the Jungfrau area.

Another great bargain is the Berner Oberland Pass, plus the Swiss Half Fare Card.

I suggest you compare the different offers; all depends on your travel plans.

Appreciate your quick response! I assumed that using the Jungfrau travel pass does not need to present Swiss travel pass and therefore, I have calculated the cost of different offers

a) Swiss half fare card + Jungfrau travel pass (4 days)

b) Swiss Travel Pass Flex 8 days (used on the days that i am not in Jungfrau region) + Jungfrau travel pass (4 days during jungfrau region)

Option (b) is slightly worth saving of CHF 20 and it gives me the convenient that i don’t have to buy saver day passes/individual tickers for day travelling outside the jungfrau area. Since discounted JungFrau travel pass requires to activate my Swiss Travel Pass throughout the Jungfrau area, then it seems like i should purchase Swiss Half Fare card instead!

In the Jungfrau Pass price table, there is a question mark icon near the “Reduced” column title. If you hoover it, you will see a flag where it reads for STPF: (validated).

Well, the decision is yours. Simply calculate what you gonna spend for an activated STPF day, and if it is worth the money compared to single tickets or the Saver Day Pass. Same in combination with the Jungfrau Pass. For the Jungfraujoch, the Swiss Half Fare Card offers the same benefits at lower cost.
