seat reservations on glacier express

I need help please. I was told by my travel agent to book our tickets for the glacier express for aug 4th on the sbb app. I have done this and also paid a lot of money for a half fare travel pass. When i go into the app to book our seat reservations it tells me there are no seats and to book an alternative route.
My whole holiday/accommodation hinges on this train trip getting us to St moritz aug 4th.
Am i missing something or have i just been ripped off with a travel pass and ticket but can’t get a seat.
I hope someone can help me and alleviate my stress. My travel agent is useless.

You should rather trust Google than your travel agent…

Why not just entering “glacier express seat reservation” as search terms (and being careful with the first “sponsored” search results)…? There you go.

(On all “panoramic” tourist trains, the reservations must be done via the respective train operator’s website)

Thank you redbaron. It says 93 days from travel to book a seat which is not near that yet. I’m assuming I can’t do it until then which means the no seat reservation was on there because they haven’t released them yet. Would I be correct?

No, as you generally cannot book seat reservations for panoramic trains in the SBB app. Only get a reserved seat on regular IC or EC trains randomly assigned as an additional ticket option.

thank you red Baron but I am slightly confused. Pardon my ignorance. I’ve booked tickets through sbb for the panoramic train (The glacier express from Zermatt to St Moritz) I just want to know how I now book a seat reservation please.

my travel agent says i need to book my seats through the sbb app but i cant seem to do that and she has no idea why?

RedBaron Thanks red Baron. I take that as a yes i have to wait until 93 days before i travel to book a seat as when i google it says i can book a seat for the glacier express but the above is the time frame.
