Timetable Change for IC 60403 on 26th February – No Notification from SBB

Hello,

I purchased a ticket for a direct trip from Utrecht Centraal to Basel SBB on Wednesday, 26th February, departing at 20:47 with IC 60403. However, I did not save the trip on my SBB app but instead on the Deutsche Bahn (DB) mobile app.

Today, I received an email from DB stating that the timetable of my trip is no longer possible. However, I have not received any notification from SBB regarding this change. When I checked the SBB timetable, I noticed that the train I originally booked is no longer listed.

I am unable to reach the SBB call center, so I hope someone here can help me.

How can I verify the exact changes to my trip?
Why did SBB not inform me about these schedule modifications?
What should I do next to ensure I can still travel on this date?

Did you really buy this ticket on sbb.ch? If you received a mail from the DB, why do you need a second one from the SBB?

Usually, in such cases, you can take every train in Germany, it means that you have no more train bindings if you have a Saver or Supersaver Ticket. Is it mentioned in this mail?

You can search alternative connections on bahn.de, but I think that it will be no more possible to travel with a direct train. The night train starts from Köln Hbf and it is not mentionned that cars with seats are available.

Ckalietoick94 How can I verify the exact changes to my trip?

Go to www.bahn.de, look up Utrecht to Basel SBB. You will be shown what is available, and can use any of those trains. You could for example take the 18:27 ICE and change to the night train to Basel in Köln. Or travel entirely on day time trains. Look at your ticket. Somewhere in it will be shown for which dates it is valid. For international long distance tickets that is usually 2 days.

Why did SBB not inform me about these schedule modifications?

Because they are not required to. It is up to the traveller themselves to check wether the schedule is still the same prior to travel. It is anyway not an SBB train you are travelling on.

What should I do next to ensure I can still travel on this date?

Be at the station on time. (like 10 minutes before departure…). Then just get on your train. Train travel is not complicated. You have a ticket. You can travel. You can take any train on the route Utrecht to Basel.
