purchased ticket requires download

I have purchased a ticket from Innsbruck to Zurich and it says I must download.
Don’t understand! Says I must download the tickets before departure for this route.
Where does it download to? I won’t have a printer while traveling!!
Please explain

Firstly, welcome to the SBB Community.

It is recommended to print international tickets for the event when your device does not have sufficient battery while travelling and you cannot recharge it or in case the ticket code cannot be scanned by the train staff.

If you can assure that you will have sufficient battery, you are welcome to use the PDF ticket saved to your device. Make sure you have your physical passport or government ID always with you when travelling with e-tickets.

You can download the ticket right now if you want, and print it out while still at home. It does not have to be done right before departure.

The trip starts in Austria, and the ÖBB still has this rule that international tickets must be printed. A printed ticket has the added advantage that a conductor can stamp it, and that saves some work for the next conductor checking your ticket.
