Milan-Luzern GA valid?

I want to purchase a yearly GA as I will be commuting from Milan Luzern weekly. Does the GA cover the whole trip or only the Swiss part of the journey? Thank you.

The GA is valid only in Switzerland. If you take regional trains RE 80 between Milan and Lugano, you can easily buy Arcobaleno Transfrontaliera tickets from Milan to Chiasso in the SBB app just before departure. You have to show these tickets to the staff to open the gates in Milano Centrale.

By “weekly”, do you mean 1 return trip per week or (for the sake of simplicity) 50 return trips per year?
If so, here’s a quick math:

1 GA Adults: 3995.-
50 Chiasso-Luzern return tickets @ half fare + Half Fare Travelcard: 50×64 + 190 = 3390.- (even less if you have more vacations)
Half Fare Plus 3000 (renewed after approx. 11 months) + 10% (= 1 month) of 2nd renewed HFPlus 3000 + Half Fare Travelcard = 2100 + 210 + 190 = 2500.-

The choice is yours.

You cannot use the Half Fare Plus for international tickets. So that is not an option in this case.

You are right, but the previous post shows the costs only between Chiasso and Luzern, not for the tickets between Milano and Chiasso.
