I would like to report and clarify an issue I experienced while trying to purchase a train ticket through the SBB website.
On March 31st, 2025, at approximately 13:08 (CET), I completed the payment process using my debit/credit card. The transaction was successfully verified via SMS, and the amount was deducted from my bank account.
However, immediately after the payment, the website showed an error message: “undefined”. No confirmation appeared, and no ticket was issued at that moment. I checked my SBB account and email, but there was no trace of the transaction.
As a result, I contacted my bank, and they confirmed that the amount is currently marked as “reserved funds”, meaning it has been authorized but not fully processed. This led me to believe the purchase had failed.
Later in the evening, I received an email from SBB with the ticket and a QR code. While I’m glad that the ticket eventually arrived, the whole experience has been quite confusing and time-consuming — including contacting the bank and trying to figure out what went wrong.
Because of this uncertainty, I would appreciate it if someone could please:
Confirm that my ticket is valid and properly registered in your system.
Clarify the status of the reserved funds, and whether this transaction will be finalized or if further steps are needed.
