Buying a Swiss Family travel Pass

Hi,
I wish to online purchase a swiss travel pass for 2 Adults ( me and my wife).How do I get a free travel pass for our Kid 13 years old. If I add all 3 passenger details it adds 122CHF in the total payment but it’s contrary to what i read online that children between 6 and 16 years travel free. How do I solve this problem. Or do I need to purchase a seperate Juniour travel card for 30CHF for our kid with us purchasing only 2 Swiss travel passes( me and my wife)

You are talking about the Swiss Travel Pass.

When you enter your child as passenger, and you enter their date of birth, the system postulates a checkbox for the Swiss Family Card that you have to check - see the screenshot. Then, the Swiss Family Card is automatically issued.

Hi Mr. Roland,
I made a transaction for purchase of 2 Adult travel passes and 1 free Family card for my kid today 03.04.2025 morning at 8:03 AM IST. Transaction from my bank in INR (Equivalent to 488CHF) took place but I didn’t receive any receipt or email regarding the same…

If you have not received a purchase confirmation e-mail, and you are certain to have entered your e-mail address correctly, then the payment did not work.

Please make sure that your credit card supports 3D secure ID. This is a 2-way factor authentication required by many European webshops.

If the payments still fail, you might want purchasing the Swiss Travel Pass from the Switzerland Travel Center. Their webshop is less picky in what concerns the acceptance of payment cards.

And you can always just buy the STP here at the station when you arrive. There is no absolute need to have this sorted out beforehand.
