I am planning to travel with my dog from Budapest to Zurich on the direct EuroNight train. However, when attempting to purchase tickets for myself and my dog, I was unable to find an option for a dog ticket. I contacted online assistance, and they provided the following two options for purchasing a dog ticket:
Online Purchase: You can buy a ticket for your dog online at half the price of a 2nd class ticket. When purchasing the ticket, enter the name and date of birth of the person traveling with the dog and add the word “DOG” in capital letters after the surname. For example: First name: Joe; Surname: Bloggs DOG; Date of birth: date of birth of the person traveling with the dog.
Day Pass Dogs: You can also purchase a Day Pass Dogs for CHF 25, which allows your dog to travel freely all day. This can be bought online, at public transport points of sale, from ticket machines, or via the SBB Mobile app.
Is it true? Also, would the Day Pass for Dogs be valid for travel on the EuroNight train?
