Cannot Find the Train Schedule on SBB now For My Confirmed Ticket

Hi! I booked tickets from Gare De Lyon to Luzern:

1st Leg:
PARIS GARE DE LYON 04/05/25 07:21 - BALE SBB 04/05/25 10:26
LYRIA 9203

2nd Leg:
Basel SBB dep 04.05.2025 11:03
Luzern arr 04.05.2025 12:05
Only valid for: IC671

My question is, I cannot find the 2nd leg on the SBB site anymore – there are no departures from Basel SBB to Luzern at 11:03 which is in my ticket. Does that mean the train is sold out?

The closest trips is IC61 at 1055, and IR27 at 1114.

Is there any action required from my end to confirm these tickets are confirmed to push through? Will SBB give a notification if in case we’re moved to another train?

Due to construction works train services 6.. have been partially cancelled. You can continue using the IR27 direct service.

Trains never ever sell out in Switzerland. This is mass transit. When you buy a ticket you buy transportation, not a place in a vehicle. So there will also be no message that you have been moved. This is not air travel. Think subway, but on longer distances and with nicer trains and scenery.

So in Basel just take whatever is the next convenient train to Luzern once you have gotten of the TGV. There is nothing special you need to do. By default tickets are for a route. That a ticket is only valid for a particular train is the exception, not the rule. Those restrictions are lifted if the train is not running.

By the way. just curious, if I miss this the 1114am one, can I ride the 1214pm with no issue?

International connecting tickets from/to France, for the Swiss stretch, are often issued as Supersaver tickets without VAT, only valid on a particular connection. In case of a service disruption, these tickets are also valid for the next possible connection after arrival as explained by @Krist.

You should never have to pay extra because of something the railways did. As a railway customer you have certain rights. One of those rights is that in case of disruptions you are entitled to alternatives. So if a train gets cancelled by the railway you can take an alternative train that gets you to your destination.

Krist Thank you! I understand. I just wanted to make sure I do the proper protocol, ie exchange tickets, etc. As Ive been advised here, my original tickets should be fine and valid for the next available train, without needing an exchange, correct? I appreciate all your help! 🙂

Exchanging tickets for another one is only needed for trains where there is compulsory reservation. Since Swiss domestic trains do not have compulsory reservation you do not need to exchange tickets.

Relax, there is absolutely no need trying to convince ticket inspectors with whatever (SBB) Internet links, while their control devices are conntected to the Intranet with way more detailed informations you might ever be able to access.
