I am writing to express my concern regarding a recent experience with the SBB mobile app. While trying to purchase a standard ticket, I selected the “Supersaver” option. The process within the app proceeded similarly to a standard ticket purchase, and I genuinely believed I had successfully bought a valid travel ticket.
However, during the ticket inspection onboard, I was informed that I had only purchased a Supersaver Class Upgrade, which is not a valid ticket on its own. As a result, I was required to purchase a ticket during the journey and had to pay 189 CHF.
Had the app provided clearer guidance or a more explicit warning that I was not purchasing a valid ticket, I would have bought my ticket earlier and at a significantly lower price. Due to this last-minute purchase, I incurred a much higher cost.
I kindly ask what can be done regarding this matter. I believe this situation arose from a lack of clear instructions and guidance within the app, and I feel disadvantaged as a result.
Thank you in advance for your support and assistance.
