Hi,
I have a friend visiting who will be traveling around Switzerland (basing in Zurich, Lucerne, and Jungfrau region (interlaken or Grindewald) with his spouse. He can walk but only very short distances and will be bringing his electric scooter on the trip. He can walk onto a train on his own if there is a big gap between platform and train. But the scooter, while compact, is heavy and needs two people to lift (so put another way, if there is a sizable gap between train and platform, they will need someone on the platform to lift the scooter to them on the train and same when deboarding.
Should they arrange for SBB assistance in these cases to help with the scooter? Or is the gap between train and platform usually not that big that he could just stay on the electric scooter and easily just roll on/off train to platform. That way, they can do self-boarding and stay flexible with their schedule. Thanks!
