vic337 I bought a Swiss Travel Pass Flex on sbb. then when i tried to buy a one-way train ticket from Geneva to Zermatt, do I still select Full Fare or Half Fare? I thought travel on SBB trains are free if i have a Swiss Travel Pass? Do I need to activate my Swiss Travel Pass for the date of the travel first?
Danhiel Hello vic337 You don’t need to buy any other ticket. Simply show your Swiss Travel Pass with your physical passport or identity card in the train. You can find more information here: https://community.sbb.ch/blog/23887-demystifying-seat-reservations-on-swiss-trains-a-comprehensive-guide Kind regards Danhiel
vic337 Danhiel Hi thanks so much for your prompt reply! This train ride from Geneva-Zermatt will be about 3-4hrs. I’m travelling with my wife, so I was wondering if there is a way to reserve our seats even though there is no need to buy any other tickets since we have a Swiss Travel Pass (2nd Class). I am also thinking of upgrading this train ride to 1st class and willing to pay the difference. How can i reserve seats on 1st class?
Danhiel vic337 Sorry, no reservations are possible between Geneva and Zermatt. Except during peak periods, you will find available seats. You can buy upgrades to 1st class for some journeys, you will pay only the Half Fare price with a Swiss Travel Pass.
