Bike reservation question for IR 95 > R43

Hello!
A friend and I are arriving at Geneva airport, collecting bikes and getting on the IR 95 >R43 to Realp with the bikes. We already purchased (2) 1st class saver day passes (full fare) and (2) day bike passes. (Saturday June 14th if that matters).

I wanted to verify if I need bike reservations as well? I think I don’t but want to be sure. We land around 920am, hope to catch the 1015am but if not then the 1115am train.

Also, I read that bike space is limited. Is running out of bike space something I said be concerned with? We’re getting on at the first stop so hopefully there’s plenty of room.

Anything else I’m missing?

As you will find out, bike space reservations are only possible on IC and EC trains. The transportation of bicycles is possible when capacity permits. On trains where a reservation is not possible, there is no guarantee for bike transportation, whatsoever.

But yes, since you start the journey at GVA, or GEAP in SBB terms, there should be sufficient bike spaces available as the majority gets on at Geneva main station, although the bike spaces are located in the last coach (the so called ‘FA’ coach) at the rear of the train, while the 1st class coaches are at the front.

And, since you only arrive midday in Brig, R43 will not be an issue either; of course, the morning and evenings are a different story.

A quick followup: does that mean that we won’t be able to sit anywhere near our bikes? should I try to exchange our 1st class tickets for 2nd class tickets to be closer to the bike area?
