GA traveller going to Milano

Hi! I have a GA pass and I’m traveling to Milano soon.
Since I have this pass, from where should I buy my ticket to Milano? Would that be from Brig or Domodossola?

The GA Travelcard is valid until Domodossola. So you only need a ticket from Domodossola on.

If you purchase a ticket for a EuroCity (EC) starting from Domodossola the reservation is also starting from Domodossola, so between wherever you’re starting until Domodossola you do not have a seat reservation. So if someone already sits there, you will have to wait until Domodossola.

If you take a regional train from Domodossola you won’t have to worry about a seat reservation.

I would suggest to buy the ticket from your starting location and add your GA Travelcard. You will only be charged for the Italian part, yet you get a seat reservation starting from where you take the EC

So for that particular route, it’s from Domodossola.

Hello anagabygh

With the GA Travel Card, you can purchase a ticket from the departure station in Switzerland to Milan and declare the GA as reduction card.

By doing so, you will not pay for the Swiss stretch and you will get a seat reservation from the point you board the EC train in Switzerland for Milan.

This is possible for GA or Swiss Travel Pass holder yet not for national day passes of any kind.
