Hello! My name is Héctor. I’m preparing a railway trip to Switzerland and Austria, and I’d like to use the FIP facilities. I work in Spanish Railway Administrator, so I have acces to the 100% free travel coupon on SBB network, while my partner can benefit the 50% reduced card on SBB trains. I have a few questions concerning some journeys; for instance:
-Zurich HB - Basel SBB: Concerning my parter, I assume we have to buy a 50% half price ticket in the office / ticket machine / online in advance. But for me, do I have direct free acces into he train with my 100% free coupon or should I do something else?
-Zurich HB - Bern HB: according to the FIP facilities provided by my company, both my partner and I have 100% free coupon on BLS network. For my partner, how do we combine the 50% FIP reduction card on SBB trains with the 100% free coupon for BLS?
-Zuirch HB - Innsbruck HBF: We’d like to take the EC 163. Here again, we have: 100% SBB and 50% SBB, and we both have 100% FIP free coupon on ÖBB Network. Can I acces the train and travel the whole journey without any restriction? My partner needs a SBB ticket from Zurich HB to Buchs SG and can continue on the ÖBB network freely?
To sum up, my principal concern is the use of my 100% free coupon on SBB trains, as long as I didn’t find any discussion about it here. On the other hand it’s almost clear that we will always need to buy the 50% half price for my partner (whereas online in advance or in the office / ticket machine). But here again, as long as I can travel 100% free, the only purchase I could do in advance would be a seat reservation, isn’it?
Many thansk, kind regards.
