Hi, we are two adults flying into Zurich on May 28th. Our plan is to go to engelberg and Titlis on may 29th - we want to do the stoos ridge hike as well and then go to wengen for the next three days after that. We plan to cover a couple of places around such as murren, apple fritter trail (maennlichh) etc (Not going to Jungfraujoch) After this we will go to montreaux and then from there to Geneva. With this in mind I was planning to purchase two half fare cards assuming that covers all trains and mountain cables/ funiculurs/ gondolas Please could you guide if that is the best pass? I assume we can buy this at Zurich airport as well since their price seems to be fixed? Also do you think it makes sense to buy the saver day pass card as well? Check the timetable and the system will show the different possibilities. Supersaver Tickets are not recommended when you arrive with a flight, you can buy regular Half Fare Point-to-point tickets at the airport, vending machines are also available. It is also not recommended to buy tickets for mountain excusions in advance, the weather could be bad. Kind regards Danhiel

I beg to disagree - the Saver Day Pass actually comes in two flavors, half fare and full fare. But I agree that on some days of that trip, a half fare SDP might be more expensive than regular half fare tickets, at least on such short notice. The half fare ones are already sold out for Thursday (public holiday) and the following Sunday anyway, and currently 59.- for all other days next week. Above Montreux, the Rochers-de-Naye cogwheel railway would be also included in the Saver Day Pass, which is an exception to the usual rule. In Stoos, the Half Fare Card does not apply to the chairlifts above the village.

Bummer we missed booking these earlier especially for Thursday since there is quite a bit travel then - any chance these be some available again? Also what are super saver tickets? Lastly since we have quite a few changes in train and chairlifts etc. - do you think buying online on the app is better or buying at the ticket counter at every station equally convenient? Assuming prices are anyways same.

Hi, also further to above I just came across a ‘day pass for 2’ - just wanted to understand if this results in some extra saving? If there are two people travelling together - as i understand two half fare cards are required but for day pass for 2 I think I read somewhere that only one can have a half fare card too ..that’s where I got a little confused :) Thanks once again!

The day pass for 2 is a limited offer available right now, which would require only one SHFC. (with all other tickets and passes, each adult needs an own SHFC).
So this could be an option if bought for all travel days, but that means even more math for you figuring out whether it’s really cheaper. Especially mind all those (expensive) mountain rides not included in the day pass for 2, where the person without SHFC would need to pay full fare (e.g. anything above Wengen, Mürren or the Titlis).

I bought the half fare pass on trip.com and I have the QR code - but I am unable to add that to the SBB app - it keeps asking for customer account number which I can’t find on the pass - request your help on this as well
I wanted to add it on the card so that while paying automatically on tickets I get the 50 percent discount

Only Swiss Half Fare Cards purchased from SBB with a registered user account can be seen on the app.

See these instructions to understand how to activate the reduced fare - it is not always 50% off, however.

The Day Pass for 2 means, 1 person has two purchase the ‘Day Pass for 2’, a second person can ride together with the ticket holder. One of the two has to have a (Swiss) half fare card, no matter who, it can also be the person who rides for free.

I had a bit of an urgent query - had bought the day pass for two for today
I selected the refund ticket option by mistake on the app
This pass is not refundable - but now the pass shows notification of refund requested - is there any way to undo this?
Can I write somewhere?
Pass can still be used today?

I suggest to call the SBB Contact Center or visit a ticket office if you want to undo the refund request:

0848 44 66 88 (24/7, waiting times may occur)

You could obtain a refund only with a medical certificate attesting the incapacity of travel of your husband, I suppose in this case only if his name is on the ticket.
