I have been having an issue when trying to purchase travel passes through the SBB site.
Every time I try and make a purchase, I get a message which reads “The payment can not be finalised, please check your card details.” I have tried different cards with different payment methods but it keeps getting kicked back. My understanding is this is due to 3D secure, so I contacted my bank (Chase.) They said they use VisaSecure which serves the same purpose and thus, should not be an issue. They also said they see no declined charges.
So I called SBB. Their advice was to try other web browsers, other cards and to just try again another time. I’ve done all of these to no avail, the website just keeps denying every card.
Does anyone have any advice as to next steps? I know if all else fails we can purchase at the station, but one of the tickets has a limited amount available and likely will be sold out by the time we arrive. So we can’t wait until we arrive in Switzerland.
