I understand the technical explanation. But from a user perspective, this is exactly the problem:
SBB’s EasyRide system offers no persistent, verifiable proof of a valid ride at the moment of check-out. This gap directly leads to misunderstandings with inspectors—even when the user has done everything right.
The app encourages users to ride first and pay later, but it does not provide an immediate ticket or code to show. In my case, I was fined and treated disrespectfully by a local inspector—even though I activated EasyRide, had it running, and checked out right after leaving the train.
I believe SBB has a responsibility to make the EasyRide system verifiable and understandable at all moments of the journey, especially when partnered with local transit networks like VBZ.
Passengers should not be penalized for following the official process.
