Dining with luggage

Can you please advise on what we can do with two medium size suitcase if we book seats on an IC train dining car between Geneva Airport and Fribourg? The trip is only 100 mins direct.

The dining car does not offer sufficient space for luggage. You would have to leave the luggage in the adjacent coach. Unless, you can put it under the seat or between the seats.

Keep in mind that the lower deck of the dining car us reserved for passengers in a wheel chair. Deposing the luggage on the platform of this coach is not appreciated, as passengers with reduced mobility must be able to get on and down the train without any hindrance.

Alternatively, there is a Migros store at GVA airport station offering snacks and food; you could get a picknick there and have it at your seat in the another coach.

Thanks for your detailed reply. Picnic is not an option and as I work with people that have disabilities and use wheelchairs I would certainly not dream of using their space.
It is disappointing that there is not an organised efficient storage solution on SBB but as it is a single stop journey we shall look at alternatives.

What I usually do when going to the restaurant car is just leave my luggage at my place in an adjacent car, and only take my backpack with me. Your luggage will be Ok, even out of your sight. It is jour purse or day pack that luggage thieves (which are actually rare here) target.

So the solution is just not to worry to much, and enjoy the trip (and the meal).

And, in addition to what Kris said, what I totally second, keep in mind the operating times of the dining cars. They are open from 6.30am to 9pm.
