Lauterbrunnen cog wheel booking and reservation

Hi. I am planning to visit Grindelwald from Interlaken. I have a Swiss travel pass. Is the cog wheel from Lauter brunnen covered by the Swiss travel pass or do I need to purchase extra tickets? If so, which website can I book it online? Also, what about seat reservation?

Swiss Travel Passes are valid from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Mürren and Grindelwald, but not between Wengen and Grindelwald via Kleine Scheidegg. For this route you have only a discount. Reservations are only possible, sometimes mandatory, to the Jungfraujoch.

Thanks for the information. Seems like if I were to book the cogwheel to Kleine Scheidegg, I need a reservation. I was looking for the same but could not find which website to book the reservation from? Is that done on sbb app, or some other websites?

You do not need a reservation on Lauterbrunnen - Kleine Scheidegg. In fact, you cannot even get a reservation on that train.
You can get a reservation on Kleine - Scheidegg - Jungfraujoch, and that is even compulsory.

Just get the tickets you need when you are here. There is no need, nor is there any advantage, to buying this ahead of time.

One last question on this thread, can you please suggest a must-see train(including cog-wheel) itinerary and activities around the Wengen, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald area?
We would be staying in Interlaken and would like to spend the 1 full day around the Wengen and Grindlewald.
We are not driving.
