The only thing you need to do to be sure that you are on the train from Zermatt to Geneva you want to be on is be at the station on time. That, (apart from having a ticket or pass, which you have) is literally the only thing you need to do.
And you cannot reserve seats on the trains from Zermatt to Geneva anyway.
