Purchasing a Travelpass and recieving a refund on Saver pass+Saversaver tickets

First, a huge thanks to those individuals volunteering their time and expertise to help others!

Yesterday, our group (10 x Adults, 2 x Ten yo adolescants, 3 x children under six) foolishly purchased tickets via a third party (Trainline) and without proper research. For travel on two days, we ended up each with 1 savers day pass, and 2 supersaver tickets.

We now realize the cost of a “Matterhorn Gotthard Pass 2 days” is less than the combined cost of the Savers day pass and 2 Supersaver tickets we were given.
More importantly, the Matterhon pass would give us the flexibility we need as our travel plans have already changed and the nonrefundable Savers day pass/ supersaver tickets may be unusable by us.

If we have been more careful, we would not have ended up in this situation, but our question now is, does anyone know if per the refund terms, we can purchase a travelpass in the form of the Matterhorn pass and request/receive a refund for our savers day pass and 1 or both supersaver tickets? If this meets the refund criteria, does anyone have any gueses about if a refund will be first issued to trainline and then they would refund us?

We have called Trainline several times, the individuals we spoke with at trainline could not answer these questions.

Sorry, Saver Day Passes and Supersaver Tickets are not exchangeable and not refundable.

From what Is printed in the SBB faq, there are a number of “Exceptional Cases” where a refund can be given on both Saver Day Passes and Supersaver Tickets. Among them:

- Identical tickets purchased as duplicates.
- The connection booked with the supersaver ticket could not be provided. 
- Ticket for wrong customer group (Day Pass/supersaver ticket/saver class upgrade without Half Fare Travelcard or full fare instead of reduced fare). 
- Proven incapacity to travel (illness, accident, death).

Additionally, a refund can be given “When a travelcard has been bought.”

- If a passenger subsequently purchases a GA Travelcard or a point-to-point Travelcard in their own name, supersaver tickets and Saver Day Passes are refunded without incurring a fee. 
- The name on the electronic ticket must match the one on the travelcard and each electronic ticket can only be shown once.
- A maximum of three tickets per person can be refunded.

Do you mean to imply that a Matterhorn Pass does not qualify as a “Travelcard”, and therefore a refund can’t be given in the scenario that I describe?

To ask the question more directly….

According to the knowledge center a Supersaver ticket and Saver Day Pass can be refunded “When a travelcard has been bought.”

What qualifies as a “travelcard” ? Does a 2 day Matterhorn pass qualify as a travelcard? Or is it only the Swiss Travel Pass and other such passes?

A travel card is a seasonal ticket that is valid for an entire month or year, mostly used by locals (commuters).

Tourist passes are not considered travel cards, thus my dear colleague @Danhiel already gave you the right answer.

And, the Matthorn Paradise Pass is a private offer, anyway.
