Late renewal of half fare travel card

Hi, all.

I’m a Geneva resident, out of the country for several months, and I neglected to renew my Half Fare Travel Card by 1 June 2025. Looking at my SwissPass account today, I see that a ‘dunning fee’ of CHF 15.00 was added on 20 June. I’ve not heard of this term before now, but it seems to me this is related to an action on debt collection.

I have now sent payment for the total outstanding amount, including that fee. It may take a couple of days for my account to reflect this payment. Does the ‘dunning fee’ affect my credit rating in Switzerland? Specifically, will it affect my attestation de non-poursuite?

No, the dunning fee is to cover additional efforts, for example the sending of a payment reminder. It is not made known to the authorities.

The Half Fare Card is contract with auto-renewal. You have to make sure its payment is made before the amount is due, just as with your apartment, insurances, etc.

And now my SwissPass account shows that the payment was received and today applied to my Half Fare Travelcard account. All is well.
