Klein Matterhorn

Hello, I’m looking for ways to get around in the Matterhorn surroundings. I’ve got the GA TravelPass for 1 month and the validity map for my ticket shows that cable cars from Zermatt are reduced price. However when I typed my route to Klein Matterhorn the connection planner (sbb.ch) indicated that my journey is covered by the pass. I find the latter highly unlikely and it’s probably a bug, but maybe someone can assure me if I think correctly?

Tickets for this cable car are not available on sbb.ch, the system doesn’t know what discounts are valid and calculates the price only from Zurich to Zermatt (included with the GA). You can obtain the ticket at the ticket office in Zermatt, wait to know if the weather is good before you buy them.

Actually there is a ‘bug’: This particular combination of provided cableway timetable data without available respective online tickets is not reflected on the displayed ticket information before you buy it. If a regular ticket would be purchased for 65/130.-, then the applicable route Zurich - Zermatt (NOT till Klein Matterhorn) would be mentioned only on the issued point-to-point ticket after purchasing it.
Same situation with some other cable cars, e.g. Hoher Kasten.

Bu there are also additional bugs in the timetable data provided by the Zermatt cableways in this case: Apart from the fact that there’s a gondola about every minute (so stated departure times only make limited sense), there’s no transfer at Furi nor at Schwarzsee, you simply remain seated in the same gondola until Trockener Steg.
However the cableway timetable data do help estimating the overall travel times, which is probably the reason why they are provided to SBB at all.

I’ve also noticed these cable car changes while the map on the https://www.matterhornparadise.ch/ inidcated it as one trip. It’s even weirder as in the SBB app I get no results for the same itinerary - I would except both source to use the same API. Anyways, thank you both for response 🙂

Maybe you can tell me (if you were in that area) if it’s better (in terms of view etc.) to get to Klein Matterhorn (or one of the lower stations) or go to Gornergrat using cogwheel train?
