It would help if you told us for which train this was, on what date and time.
Note that seat numbers form a bit of a strange pattern on trains that follow the traditional numbering. Note also that on most trains in Switzerland seat reservations are not needed, and you are free to sit where you want, so you can just sit next to each other if that is your preference. (When I travel with my wife seats opposite each other by the window is our preference…)
