Same price for HALF FARE yearly ticket and monthly ticket?

I was pleased to find that the half-fare card was available at a cost of 120 Swiss Francs, which seemed like a great deal for the travel convenience it promised.
During the purchase process, I carefully followed all the steps. The price of 120 Swiss Francs was clearly displayed, and I proceeded with the payment, assuming that I was purchasing a standard half-fare card. However, to my surprise, it was only after the purchase was complete and I received the purchase information in my email that I discovered the card was only valid for one month.

The Swiss Half Fare Card which is only available for foreign visitors is valid 1 month and costs 120..-
The Half Fare Travelcard which is intended for residents (linked to issued SwissPass plastic card) is valid 1 year and costs 190.- for the first year.

Looks like you somehow mixed up the two?

Make sure you are entitked to use the tourist SHFC, otherwise contact the contact center or go to a SBB counter for a cancellation/exchange/refund.

The Half Fare Card for one month and one year are different offers.

There is the Swiss Half Fare Card for one month and 120 francs. This is recommended for short stays or holidays.

There is also the Half Fare Travelcard for one year which is automatically renewed. (Youth for 120 francs and from 25 years for 190 francs)

It’s best if you read through the two offers again.

If you’ve bought the wrong one, it’s best to call the SBB Contact Centre on +41 (0) 848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min.) or visit an SBB Travel Centre.
