Worst service ever!
Of course, it’s totally my fault that I left my traveling luggage in the overhead compartment when changing trains while rushing to get the 2min connection. But, with all due respect, I literally called SBB 1min after the train left the station about the incident and was willing to pay whatever it takes to get the luggage back . No, they could not call the IC Train (Biel - Laufen) to tell them to quickly check and save my luggage. The SBB Policy is as follows: if the remaining train journey to the final station is less than 30min, they are doing shit, means, nothing. They are not checking the train.
Hence, all they do is sending you a lost and found form to fill. It’s absolutely embarrassing that 40 years ago, without any mobile phones and all the tech shit we have now etc. reporting a lost item was absolutely no problem and you got it back within 2 hours. So, there we are, your luggage gets stolen and you won’t ever have it back. Fantastic Job SBB. Frankly, your service, it’s just embarrassing.
