Express luggage delivery experience 😞😟
I’m traveling with an 86 year old who is unable to make the transfers in time when handling luggage.
The express door to door service would be a life saver.
The huge Issues in execution are making it a hassle and I would not recommend it.
- I could not order it online.
- I went to a train station and was told I need to order by phone.
- I order by phone but all of our US credit cards are rejected. They need to have the card in hand.
- I go to the ticket window at a station. They say they can’t take our payment. We should have not made the order by phone. We wait. They cancel the first order and then redo a second order.
- I receive an email saying the transfer company will reach out to me no later then 8pm the day before the service. I do not get an email.
- I call SBB. They say I will be contacted within the hour. I am not.
- Day of service, I begin waiting outside in the cold (the address to apartment is the garage. I’m not sure how they will know which apartment is ours) at 6am. The beginning of the time window.
- At 6:30am, I call SBb again asking when I will be contacted by the transfer service. He says within minutes.
- At 7:40 am, I call SBB again. She says they actually don’t open until 7. That would have been nice to know. !!!!! She says they will contact me in less than 10 minutes. That was 30 minutes ago.
- It is now 8:15. The transfer service is not here yet. They have another 45 minutes. I have not heard from them by text, email or phone despite 3 confirmations from SBB to the contrary. I’ve been sitting outside on a rock in the cold since 6 am. this was a great idea but executed worse than anything I’d expect from the Swiss.
