How to verify Swiss Half Fare Card for online bookings

Hello!
I just purchased my Swiss Half Fare Card from https://www.swiss-pass.ch, and I received the pass by email for my trip in August.

However, I have some questions about how to use it for online bookings on SBB. How can I verify or register my Half Fare Card on SBB.ch?

Should I simply buy tickets by selecting the “Swiss Half Fare Card” option and then show the pass physically to the train conductor? Or is there a way to link it directly to my user account?

You do not need to do so. There is no need to prove that you have the half fare card in order to by discounted tickets. You just set in your passenger profile that you have the HFC.

It is on the train the the conductor will check that you have the HFC as well as a ticket.
